Take a Cab from the Airport to your Hotel, avoid the Shuttle Bus, it stops at all the hotels and can take up to an hour on busy nights. The cab should cost $15-$20. To ensure you don't get taken for a longer ride than necessary tell your cab driver the rate you want to pay before getting into the cab. Tell your cab driver to avoid the I-15 connector tunnel.

Luggage:

If possible travel with carry on only, you will avoid waiting for baggage and get to your destination quicker. each traveller is entitled to 1 carry on and 1 carry bag, if you get creative you can fit a four day trip into your carry on.

Footwear:

Walking is un-avoidable, it is several miles round trip walking the strip end to end, take two pairs of walking shoes, your going to want to be comfortable

Cash or Credit?:

Bring lots of Cash, ATM's on the strip charge outrageous fees to withdrawal cash and credit card advances are even more costly. Reserve your Credit Cards for Rooms, Shows, Car Rentals and Expensive meals.

Tipping:

Vegas is a money town, tipping goes a long way, if you are looking for good service a good tip may get you what you want.

Getting around:

Walking - the strip is about 4 miles one way depending on where you stop.

Bus "The deuce" - You can buy a 3 day pass for $20, the deuce, stops every quarter mile along the strip, you can jump on or off all you want where you want runs 24 hrs / day

Monorails - The monorail stops at six hotels along the strip Harrah's / Imperial Palace, Bally's / Paris, Flamingo & the MGM Grand. Single rides will cost your $5; but don't expect to eliminate walking the monorail stations are just as deep into the Hotel as the Hotel's are far apart.

Free Monorails / Trams - there are three trams available on the West side of the strip they link the following Hotels:

1 - Excalibur / Luxor / Mandalay Bay

2 - Monte Carlo / City Center / Bellagio

3 - Mirage / Treasure Island
