How to Play Craps the Right Way: The 3 Simple Steps
As you all know, Craps is a game that you can find in almost every casino where people gather
around a table usually making a ruckus out of excitement. If you want to join in their fun,
learning how to play Craps will be your first task to do.
Simple Steps on How to Play Craps
Step 1: How to Roll the Dice
To play craps, you will have to learn a few simple rules. In rolling the dice, you should roll it
strong enough that it will reach the opposite end of the table and the dice should bounce off from
the wall. Any improper roll will result in a re-roll. Remember, if you don't want to participate as
a shooter, you can always pass your turn to the next.
Step 2: Playing the Pass Line
Now, before a game of Craps can be started, the first shooter will have to place a bet on the pass
line, that is, if there is a puck on the table with the word "OFF" written on it. When the puck is
present, then that means that there is still no point yet. After a bet is placed on the pass line,
the first shooter will be able to roll the come-out roll which is the very first roll of the game.
Depending on the outcome of the shooter's dice roll, the participating bettors will have to conform
to the result.
Step 3: Know What Comes Next After the Come-out Roll
There are three possible outcomes whenever the come-out roll is played:
Possible Outcome 1: The shooter got 7 or 11; everybody wins even money, this is sometimes called a
"natural".
Possible Outcome 2: The shooter got craps which is 2, 3, or 12; everybody loses their bets on this
outcome.
Possible Outcome 3: The shooter gets a different number from the numbers mentioned earlier; the
outcome will be the determined point.
In the 3rd outcome, playing the point, the results of the dice will be designated as the point. The
participating bettors do not have to bet again in order to play and the bets on the pass line will
remain there. When the shooter gets the point, then every participating bettor will win even money,
if the shooter gets a number other than the point or 7, then he will be allowed to shoot again
until he gets the point or 7, but if the shooter gets 7, then all the bets are lost and the
shooter's turn will be passed to the next participating player.
The pass line bet is the simplest form of playing Craps. Once you understand the basic rules of
pass line, you will be able to play a game of Craps properly. Now that you know the simple rules of
playing, you can start playing craps right away. You can play online craps to try it out first and
get a better feel of the game as well as develop a Craps Strategy. The more you know, the more you
win.
